Nigerian Bourse closes lower by 0.08%, Tuesday

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian stock exchange on Tuesday closed in red as the All Share Index declined by 0.08% to close at 27,547.56 points against the previous close of 27,570.94 points on Monday.

Market Capitalisation declined by 0.08% to close at N14.347 trillion from the previous close of N14.360 trillion, thereby shedding N13 billion.

Aggregate volume of traded stocks closed at 168 million units, up by 24.86% from the previous close of 134.6 million units.

Value of traded stocks grew by 36.18% to close at N2.16 billion away from the previous close of N1.58 billion.
Total number of deals at the close of trade was 3,075, down by 6.87% from the previous close of 3,302 deals.

Market Breadth

The Market Breadth closed negative as 12 stocks gained while 13 stocks declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Wapic Insurance and UAC Properties both led the price percentage gainers with 10% growth to close at N0.33 and N0.N0.99
C&I Leasing and Neimeth among other gainers also grew their share prices by 7.41% and 6.67% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Law Union & Rocks Insurance led the price decliners list, shedding 4.81% of its share price to close at N0.99 from the previous close of N1.04.
Japaul Oil, Courtville and Linkage Assurance among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 4.76%, 4.55% and 4.35% respectively.

Volume Drivers


Zenith Bank traded about 48.99 million units of its shares in 522 deals, valued at N953 million.
Guaranty Trust Bank traded about 17 million units of its shares in 186 deals, valued at N494 million.
United Capital traded about 15.64 million units of its shares in 172 deals, valued at N45.7 million.
