The Nigerian Equities Market on Wednesday closed in red as the All Share Index declined further by 0.48% to close at 28,286.08 points against the previous close of 28,422.76 points on Tuesday.
Market capitalisation closed at N10.627 trillion, shedding N51 billion from the previous close of N10.678 trillion on Tuesday.
Aggregate volume of traded stocks for the day was 176.7 million units, valued at N2.077 billion in 3,294 deals.
The market breadth closed negative as 11 stocks gained while 17 stocks lost.
Chams Plc, ABC Transport and Thomas Wyatt Nigeria Plc among others on the gainers chart grew their share prices by 9.09%, 8.00% and 7.41% respectively.
WAPIC Insurance tops the decliners’ list, shedding 10% of its share price to close at N0.36 from the previous close of N0.40.
Forte Oil, Champions Breweries and Cement Company of Northern Nigeria (CCNN) among other price decliners also shed 9.87%, 9.79% and 9.15% of their share prices respectively.
- Access Bank traded about 35.76 million units of its shares in 164 deals, valued at N241.7 million.
- UACN traded about 21.51 million units of its shares in 223 deals, valued at N161.4 million.
- UBA traded about 18.78 million units of its shares in 293 deals, valued at N114 million.
- Guaranty Trust Bank traded about 17.44 million units of its shares in 260 deals, valued at N551 million.
