NSEASI dips further by 0.35%, Thursday

The Nigerian Stock Exchange on Thursday recorded 0.35% decline as the All Share Index closed at 32,010.06 points against the previous close of 32,121.74 points on Wednesday. Consequently, the bourse shed about N42 billion as the market capitalisation closed lower by 0.35% to settle at N11.937 trillion from the previous close of N11.979 trillion.

The aggregate volume and value of traded stocks closed at 218.9 million units and N2.74 billion respectively in 3,519 deals.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative only 9 stocks gained against 26 stocks that lost.

Percentage Gainers

Cadbury with 7.84% growth led other percentage gainers to close at N11 from the previous close of N10.20.

Dangote Flour and Stanbic IBTC among other gainers also grew their share prices by 4.13% and 3.00% to close at N11.35 and N48 respectively.

Percentage Losers

University Press (UPL), United Capital Plc (UCAP) and Royal Exchange shed their share prices by 9.78%, 9.09% and 8.57% respectively among others on the price decliners’ list.

Volume Drivers

  • Zenith Bank traded about 34.8 million units of its shares in 569 deals, valued at N859.73 million.
  • Access Bank traded about 29.2 million units of its shares in 194 deals, valued at N177.49 million.
  • First Bank of Nigeria Holdings (FBNH) traded about 28.98 million units of its shares in 205 deals, valued at N235.88 million.
  • Guaranty Trust Bank traded about 22.54 million units of its shares in 314 deals, valued at N850 million.
