Nigerian Bourse sheds N110bn, closes 0.79% lower, Monday

The Nigerian equities market on Monday July 15th closed on a negative note as the All Share Index declined by 0.79% to close at 28,341.03 points from the previous close of 28,566.78 points on Friday.

Market capitalisation closed at N13.812 trillion, shedding N110 billion from the previous close of N13.922 trillion on Friday.

Aggregate volume and value of traded stocks for the day grew by 74.52% and 46.95% to close at 175 million units and N2.1 billion in 3,111 deals.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative as 10 stocks gained while 21 stocks lost.

Percentage Gainers

Cornerstone Insurance with 10% growth led other gainers to close at N0.22 above the previous close of N0.20. AIICO Insurance, LASACO and VITA FOAM also grew their share prices by 7.69%, 6.90% and 4.52% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Consolidated Hall Mark Insurance, Sovereign Insurance and COURTVILLE led others price decliners’ after shedding their share prices for the day by 9.09%, 8.70% and 8.33% respectively

 

Volume Drivers

Guaranty traded about 16 million units of its shares in 252 deals, valued at N478.8 million
