Stock market rebounds, gains N39b, Tuesday

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigeria Stock Exchange on Tuesday were upbeat as the All Share Index grew by 0.33%, to arrive at 32,154.03 points above the previous close of 32,048.18 points on Monday

The market capitalisation appreciated by 0.33% to settle at N11.739 trillion in contrast to N11.700 trillion of the last trading session, adding a total of N39 billion at the close of today’s trading.

Volume of traded stocks declined by 5.18%, while the worth traded stocks soared by 59.55% to stand at 149 million units and N2.7 billion respectively.

 

Market Breadth

The day’s trading activities produced 14 gainers against 23 losers, thereby bringing the market breadth to a negative round off.

Percentage Gainers

CCNN led other percentage gainers, advancing by 9.81% in its share price to settle at N20.15 above the previous close of N18.35

NAHCO, Dangote Sugar and UBA gained 5.29%, 4.26% and 4.00% respectively, ahead of other 10 stocks that made it to the green.

 Percentage Losers

FIDSON and Mutual Benefit top the losers’ chart losing 10.00% each of their share prices, while UAC Property and Niger Insurance shed 9.60% and 9.09% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Guaranty traded about 11million units of its shares in 101 deals, worth about N447 million

Zenith Bank also traded about 10million units of its shares, exchanged in 288 hands and valued at about  N241 million
