Nigerian Equities market extends gains, closes 0.47% higher, Wednesday

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock exchange on Wednesday closed in green as the All Share Index grew further by 0.47% to close at 31,151.68 points from the previous close of 31,007.25 points on Tuesday.

Market Capitalisation grew by 0.47%, closing at N11.373 trillion from the previous close of N11.320 trillion, gaining N53 billion.

Volume and value of shares traded grew by 0.05% and 9.20%, closing at 198.64 million units and N2.31 billion respectively.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed positive as 19 stocks gained against 18 stocks that lost.

Percentage Gainers

Veritas Kapital with 10% growth tops the percentage gainers’ chart, closing at N0.22 against the previous close of N0.2

Diamond Bank, Linkage Assurace, Wapic and LASACO grew 8.97%, 8.93%, 8.11% and 7.41% respectively among others on the gainers chart.

Percentage Losers

Cement Company of Northern Nigeria (CCNN) tops the losers’ chart, shedding 9.72% of its share price to close at N16.25 against the previous close of N18

Trans-Nationwide Express Plc shed 9.23%, First Aluminium and Prestige Assurance both shed 9.09% of their share prices respectively among others on the losers’ chart.

Volume Drivers

  • FBNH traded about 90.36 million units of its shares in 516 deals, valued at about N689.8 million.
