Petrol import to reduce as Dangote Refinery plans to roll out products by end of July 2023- NNPC

NNPC recently disclosed that will cut down on its imports of petrol when Dangote Refinery starts pumping out its products by the end of July 2023. For several years NNPC has been the sole importer of petrol into Nigeria.

Dangote Refinery has the capacity to process 650,000 barrels of crude oil per day. NNPC also owned 20 per cent stake in the Dangote Refinery.

Aliko Dangote at the inauguration of the refinery, said the facility would put an end to the inflow of toxic substandard petroleum products into Nigeria, adding that the refinery would meet 100 per cent of Nigeria’s fuel needs. He stated that the refinery would start delivering refined products to the Nigerian market from late July or Early August this year.
