Nigerian stock market declines, closes 0.46% lower, Wednesday

The Nigerian Bourse on Wednesday dropped from the previous trading session as the All Share Index declines 0.46% to close at 32,963.27 points below 33,114.44 points of the last trading session.

Market capitalization fell by 0.45% also to stand at N12.034 trillion against N12.089 trillion recorded on Tuesday, shedding a total loss of N55 billion.

Volume and value of traded stocks dipped by 22.77% and 37.50% to arrive at 172 million units and N2 billion respectively.

Market Breadth

17 stocks closed positive against 23 that closed negative, bringing the market breadth to a negative round off.

Percentage Gainers

UAC-Property led other percentage gainers closing 10.00% above the previous close of N1.70 to settle at N1.87

Niger Insurance grew 8.82%, University Press Plc and Veritas Kapital gained 7.33% and 7.14% of their share prices ahead of other stocks on the gainers’ chart

Percentage Losers

Berger Paint tops the losers’ chart losing 10.00% of its share price, while Prestige Assurance and Royal Exchange shed 9.80% and 9.09% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Guaranty traded about 27 million units of its shares in 189 deals, worth about N1 billion.

Fidelity Bank traded about 33 million units of its shares in 277 deals, valued at about N57 million.
