Nigerian Bourse gains N71bn, closes 0.61% higher, Friday

The Nigerian Bourse on Friday closed in green as the All Share Index grew by 0.61% to close at 32,058.28 points against the previous close of 31,864.80 points on Thursday.

Market capitalisation grew by 0.61%, closing at N11.704 trillion from the previous close of N11.633 trillion, thereby gaining N71 billion.

Aggregate Volume of traded stocks declined by 52.97%, closing at 164.26 million units against the previous close of 394.25 million units on Thursday.

Value of traded stocks grew by 13.66% to close at N2.79 billion from the previous close of N2.45 billion.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed positive as 19 stocks gained against 16 stocks that declined in share price.

Percentage Gainers

Mansard tops the percentage gainers’ chart, gaining 9.83% to close at N1.9 from the previous close of N1.73

Prestige Assurance Plc, Livestock Feeds and Unity Bank grew 9.80%, 9.62% and 9.41% respectively among other percentage gainers.

Percentage Losers

University Press Plc tops the loser’s chart, shedding 9.43% of its share price to close at N1.92.

C&I Leasing and Eternal Plc also shed 9.25%and 9.09% respectively among other stocks on the losers’ chart.

Volume Drivers

Guaranty Trust Bank traded about 47.64 million units of its shares being the highest volume for the day in 254 deals, valued at N1.747 billion.
