Nigerian Bourse sustains rally, closes 0.36% higher, Thursday

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Thursday closed in green as the All Share Index grew further by 0.36% to close at 30,989.60 points from the previous close of 30,878.56 points on Wednesday

Market capitalisation grew by 0.37% to close at N11.558 trillion against the previous close of N11.515 trillion, gaining N43 billion.

Volume of traded stocks declined by 28.70% to close at 268.3 million units while value of traded stocks grew by 6% to close at N3.145 billion.

Market Breadth

Market breadth closed positive as 27 stocks gained while 20 stocks declined

Percentage Gainers

Learn Africa with 9.92% growth led other percentage gainers to close at N1.33 from the previous close of N1.21

Ikeja Hotel, Veritas Kapital, Mansard, Royal Exchange, Access Bank and Caverton among other gainers grew 9.87%, 9.09%, 7.53%, 6.90%, 6.19% and 6.00% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Medview Airline Plc tops the losers’ chart, shedding 9.76% of its share price to close at N1.85 from the previous close of N2.05.

Resort Savings & Loans, Union Bank and Linkage Assurance also shed 9.09%, 8.89% and 8.82% of their share prices among others on the losers’ chart.

Volume Drivers

  • Zenith Bank traded about 36.47 million units of its shares in 468 deals, valued at N806.5million.
  • UBA traded about 31.64 million units of its shares in 331 deals, valued at N232.3million.
  • FBNH traded about 28.99 million units of its shares in 198 deals, valued at N217.37million.
