NSEASI dips by 0.82%, Monday

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Monday closed in red as the All Share Index declined by 0.82% to close at 30,614.73 points from the previous close of 30,866.82 points on Friday.

Market Capitalisation dropped by 0.82%, closing at N11.177 trillion against the previous close of N11.269 trillion, shedding N92 billion.

 

Aggregate volume of traded stocks declined by 8.05%, closing at 164.58 million units against the previous close of 178.99 million units on Friday.

Value of traded stocks grew by 7.07%, closing at N1.67 billion from the previous close of N1.56 billion.

Insurance, Oil & Gas, Industrial, Banking and Consumer Goods sectors all  declined by 0.74%, 1.19%, 0.39%, 0.25% and 2.32% respectively.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative as 14 stocks gained against 25 stocks that lost.

Percentage Gainers

Trans Nationwide Express Plc with 8.47% growth tops the percentage gainers’ chart, closing at N0.64 from the previous close of N0.59

Forte Oil and Vitafoam grew 6.39% and 5.52% to close at N19.15 and N3.44 respectively among other stocks on the gainers’ chart.

 

Percentage Losers

Livestock Feeds tops the losers’ chart, shedding 9.62% of its share price to close at N0.47 against the previous close of N0.52

Cornerstone Insurance, Mutual Benefit, Mobil and UACN shed 9.09%, 8.7%, 8.47% and 7.00% of their share prices respectively among others on the losers’ chart.

Volume Drivers

  • Diamond Bank traded about 44.92 million units of its shares in 346 deals, valued at about N45.6 million.
  • FBNH traded about 28.15 million units of its shares in 179 deals, valued at about N214.2 million.
  • Guaranty Trust Bank traded about 8 million units of its shares in 335 deals, valued at about N276.65 million.
