Nigerian Bourse gains N97bn, closes 0.81% higher, Friday

The Nigerian Bourse on Friday closed in green as the All Share Index grew further by 0.81% to close at 32,715.20 points from the previous close of 32,453.69 points on Thursday.

Market Capitalisation closed at N12.200 trillion advancing by 0.80% from the previous close of N12.103 trillion, thereby gaining N97 billion.

Aggregate volume and value of traded stocks grew by 91% and 73.97% to close at 808.65 million units and N6.49 billion respectively.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed positive as 33 stocks gained against 22 that lost.

Percentage Gainers

Royal Exchange and Presco Plc with 10% growth led other percentage gainers to close at N0.33 and N66 respectively.

Ikeja Hotels, Transcorp, Dangote Flour, Union Bank and Linkage Assurance among other gainers grew by 9.7%, 9.62%, 9.58%, 9.52% and 9.37% respectively.

Percentage Losers

MRS tops the losers’ chart, shedding 9.94% of its share price; while UACN, Academic Press and  Japaul oil shed 9.90%, 9.76% and 9.09 % respectively.

Volume Drivers

  • Diamond Bank traded about 141.62 million units of its shares in 113 deals, valued at N339.92 million
  • Guaranty Trust Bank traded about 39.48 million units of its shares in 241 deals, valued at 1.496 billion.
