Stock Market declines, closes 0.44% lower, Wednesday

The Nigerian Bourse on Wednesday declines from the previous trading session as the All Share Index settles at 35,358.94 points in contrast to 35,516.21 points of the last trading session, implying 0.44% drop.

Market capitalisation also dropped by 0.44% to settle at N12.909 trillion against N12.966 trillion recorded on Tuesday, indicating a loss of N57 billion.

Volume of traded stocks grew marginally by 1.58% and the value of traded stocks depreciated by 58.80% to close at 345 million units and N2.2 billion respectively.

 

Market Breadth

18 stocks closed positive against 27 that closed negative, bringing the market breadth to a negative round off.

Percentage Gainers

Portland Paint led other percentage gainers closing at 9.96% above the previous close of N2.71 to settle at N2.98

Regency Alliance grew 9.52%, Skye Bank and PZ gained 7.69% and 7.16% of their share prices ahead of other stocks on the gainers’ chart

Percentage Losers

Livestock Feeds tops the losers’ chart losing 10.00% of its share price; while Standard Insurance Plc and LASACO shed 9.52% and 9.09% respectively.

Volume Drivers

NEM Insurance traded about 180 million units of its shares, valued at about N540million.

UBA traded about 27.1 million units of its shares in 369 deals, worth about N221 million.
