Nigerian Bourse closes lower by 0.31%, sheds N46bn

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange closed in red as All share Index declined by 0.31% due to settle at 28,546.22 points from the previous close of 28,634.35 points.

Market capitalization dropped by 0.31% to close at N14.921 trillion from the previous close of N14.967 trillion, thereby shedding N46 billion.

An aggregate of 569.38 million units of shares were traded in 6,101 deals, valued at N4.91 billion.

Market Breadth

Market Breadth closed positive as 26 stocks gained against 17 stocks that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Eterna Plc led other gainers with 10% growth to close at N3.30 from the previous close of N3.00.

Unilever, Ecobank and AXA Mansard among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.76%, 8.54% and 7.18% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Deap Capital Management led other price decliners as it shed 10% of its share price to close at N0.27 from the previous close of N0.30.

Mutual Benefit Assurance, Cornerstone Insurance and Nigerian Breweries among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 8.70%, 8.33% and 7.07% respectively.

Volume Drivers

  • Eterna Plc traded about 112.89 million units of its shares in 29 deals, valued at N372.53 million.
  • Zenith Bank traded about 74.23 million units of its shares in 887 deals, valued at N1.5 billion.
  • Access Bank traded about 57.06 million units of its shares in 455 deals, valued at N449.16 million.
