Investors gain N4bn as equity market rises by 0.03%

The Nigerian equity market on Tuesday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index appreciated by 0.03% to settle at 28,665.82 points from the previous close of 28,658.31 points.

Investors gain N4bn as Market Capitalisation grew by 0.03% to close at N14.983 trillion from the previous close of N14.979 trillion.

An aggregate of 297.3 million units of shares were traded in 4,736 deals, valued at N2.93 billion.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed positive as 23 stocks gained against 17 that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

International Breweries led other gainers with 9.90% growth to close at N6.44 from the previous close of N5.86.

United Capital, Nigerian Breweries and Flour Mills among other gainers also grew their share prices by 8.17%, 4.67%, and 4.55% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Regency Assurance led other price decliners as it shed 8.33% of its share price to close at N0.22 from the previous close of N0.24.

Cornerstone Insurance, PZ and Mobil among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 4.76%, 4.65% and 4.60% respectively.

Volume Drivers

UBA traded about 72.43 million units of its shares in 257 deals, valued at about N506.8 million.

Zenith Bank traded about 27.16 million units of its shares in 432 deals, valued at about N568.2 million.

UACN traded about 22.2 million units of its shares in 57 deals, valued at N149.4 million.
