Nigerian Bourse closes lower by 0.09%, sheds N12bn

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Monday closed on a negative note as the All Share Index dropped by 0.09% to close at 25,582.23 points from the previous close of 25,605.64 points.

Market Capitalisation closed at N13.346 trillion, down by 0.09% from the previous close of N13.358 trillion, thereby shedding N12 billion.

An aggregate of 254.97 million units of shares were traded in 4,699 deals, valued at N2 billion.

Market Breadth

Market Breadth closed positive as 16 equities appreciated in their share prices while 15 equities declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Eternal Plc led other gainers with 9.13% growth to close at N2.27 from the previous close of N2.08.

NEM Insurance, C&I Leasing, UAC Properties and Access Bank among other gainers also grew their share prices by 8.70%, 8.33%, 7.61% and 7.41% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Honeywell Flour led other price decliners as it shed 6.25% of its share price to close at N0.90 from the previous close of N0.96.

Chams Plc and Red Star Express among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 4.55% and 4.37% respectively.

Volume Drivers

UBA traded about 44.35 million units of its shares in 345 deals, valued at about N291.99 million.

Zenith Bank traded about 30.82 million units of its shares in 581 deals, valued at about N536.1 million.

Access Bank traded 29.12 million units of its shares in 446 deals, valued at about N196.62 million.
