Investors gain N145bn as market rises by 0.90%

The Nigerian equity market on Friday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index appreciated by 0.90% to settle at 31,016.17 points from the previous close of 30,738.92 points.

Investors gain N145 billion as Market Capitalization grew by 0.90% to close at N16.207 trillion from the previous close of N16.062 trillion.

An aggregate of 637.49 million units of shares were traded in 6,354 deals, valued at N5.23 billion.

Market Breadth 

The market breadth closed positive as 31 equities gained while 11 equities declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Ecobank led other gainers with 9.80% growth to close at N5.6 from the previous close of N5.10.

C&I Leasing and Livestock Feeds among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.60% and 9.28% respectively.

Percentage Losers

AXA Mansard led other price decliners as it shed 9.09% of its share price to close at N2.00 from the previous close of N2.20.

Prestige Assurance and NEM Insurance among other gainers also grew their share prices by 8.62% and 8.07%.

Volume Drivers

Omolabi Mortgage Bank traded about 139.5 million units of its shares in 1 deal, valued at N83.7 million.

First Bank of Nigeria Holdings traded about 91.37 million units of its shares in 242 deals, valued at N594.95 million.

Sterling Bank traded about 51.5 million units of its shares in 1,624 deals, valued at N93.7 million.
