Stock market rebounds, gains 0.28%, Tuesday

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigeria Stock Exchange on Tuesday were upbeat as the All Share Index grew by 0.28%, after four straight sessions of loss to close at 34,933.68 points against the previous close of 34,837.50 points on Monday

The market capitalization appreciated by 0.28% to settle at N12.753 trillion in contrast to N12.718 trillion of the last trading session, adding a total of N35 billion at the close of today’s trading.

Volume and value of traded stocks also grew by 82.82% and 15.16% to stand at 240.4 million units and N3.6 billion respectively.

 

Market Breadth

The day’s trading activities produced 23 gainers against 18 losers, thereby bringing the market breadth to a positive round off.

Percentage Gainers

AIICO Insurance led other percentage gainers closing 10.00% above the previous close of N0.90 to settle at N0.99

JAIZBANK, C&I Leasing and Diamond Bank gained 8.89%, 8.80% and 8.70% respectively ahead of other stocks that made it to the green.

 Percentage Losers

Universal Insurance, PZ Cussons and FIDSON, all top the losers’ chart losing 10.00% each of their share prices, while TRIPPLEG and Guinea Insurance shed 9.41% and 8.57% respectively.

Volume Drivers

UBA traded the highest volume of about 54million units of its shares in 237 deals, worth about N436 million
