Wapic Insurance led gainers as NSE shed more weight

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Friday closed lower by 0.27% as the All Share Index shed 85.55 points to close at 31,924.51 points against the previous close 32,010.06 points on Thursday.

The market capitalisation declined by 0.27% to close at N11.905 trillion against the previous close of N11.937 trillion, thereby shedding N32 billion.

The aggregate volume and value of traded stocks closed at 233.29 million units and N2.27 billion respectively in 3,110 deals.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative 14 stocks gained against 15 stocks that lost.

Percentage Gainers

Wapic Insurance with 5% growth led other percentage gainers to close at N0.42 from the previous close of N0.40.

PZ, NPF Microfinance Bank, Sovereign Trust Insurance and Africa Prudntial Plc among other gainers also grew their share prices by 4.95%, 4.73%, 4.17% and 4.12% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Academy Press, Veritas Kapital and Neimeth shed their share prices by 10%, 8.70% and 8.57% respectively among others on the price decliners’ list.

Volume Drivers

  • Zenith Bank traded about 46.7 million units of its shares in 632 deals, valued at N1.16 billion.
