Market dips further by 0.07% as profit taking persist

Trading activities on the floor of Nigerian Stock Market on Monday remained low as the All Share Index dipped further by 0.07% to settle at 47,251.93 points compared with 47,282.67 points recorded last Friday.

The market capitalisation dropped by N17 billion to close at N25.466 trillion, from N25.483 trillion recorded in the previous session.

Aggregate volume and value of traded stocks settled at 213.6 million units and N2.676 billion in 4,485 deals. 

Market Breadth

Market Breadth closed negative as 15 stocks gained against 22 stocks that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

GUINNESS Plc led the gainers chart with 10.00% growth to close at N71.50 from the previous close of N65.00

Royal Exchange, Mutual Benefits and LASACO also gained by 8.33%, 8.00% and 6.00% respectively.

Percentage Losers

RTBRISCOE tops the price decliners’ list, shedding 10.00% of its share price to close at N0.72 from N0.80.

Still on the red table are; Berger Paints, Ikeja Hotel and Champion Breweries, shedding 9.64%, 8.76% and 8.07% respectively, ahead of other price decliners.

Volume Drivers

Access Bank traded about 27 million units of its shares in 311 deals, valued at about N265 million.

Zenith Bank traded about 20 million units of its shares in 427 deals, valued at about N535 million.

GTCO traded about 18 million units of its shares in 465 deals, valued at about N482 million.
