Stock market rebounds with N21bn gain

Trasactions on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange closed on a positive note as the All Share Index appreciated by 0.16% to settle at 25,572.57 points from the previous close of 25,532.74 points on Thursday.

Investors gain N21 billion as Market Capitalisation grew by 0.16% to close at N13.365 trillion from the previous close of N13.344 trillion.

An aggregate of 193.5 million units of shares were traded in 2,934 deals, valued at N1.846 billion.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed positive as 20 stocks gained while 6 stocks declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Neimeth Pharmaceuticals led other gainers with 8.33% growth, closing at N1.95 from the previous close of N1.80.

Caverton, Dangote Sugar and Custodian Investment among other gainers also grew their share prices by 8.24%, 7.14% and 6.59% respectively.

Percentage Losers

ABC Transport led other price decliners as it shed 9.09% of its share price to close at N0.30 from the previous close of N0.33.

Others on the decliners list include: Cornerstone Insurance (-7.58%), LASACO (-7.41%), Cutix Plc (-.2.86), Jaiz Bank (-1.67%) and Transcorp Plc (1.64%) respectively.

Volume Drivers

  • FBN Holdings traded about 35.79 million units of its shares in 215 deals, valued at N165.37 million.
  • FCMB traded about 29.27 million units of its shares in 27 deals, valued at N60.29 million.
  • Zenith Bank traded about 16 million units of its shares in 318 deals, valued at N267.28 million.
