Stock market rebounds with 0.16% growth, investors gain N33bn

The stock market on Friday closed on a positive note occasioned by gains in the share prices of BUA Cement and Dangote Cement by 1.04% and 0.04% respectively.

The All Share Index appreciated by 0.16% to settle at 38,547.08 points from the previous close of 38,484.82 points.

Investors gained N33 billion as the market capitalization appreciated by 0.16% to close at N20.084 trillion from the previous close of N20.051 trillion.

An aggregate of 387.13 million units of shares were traded in 4,700 deals, valued at N3.82 billion.

The Market Breadth negative as 20 equities appreciated in their share prices against 26 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Transcorp led other gainers with 9.68% growth, closing at N1.02 from the previous close of N0.93.

Ikeja Hotel, NAHCO and Honeywell Flourmills among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.24%, 9.09% and 5.00% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Learn Africa led other price decliners as it shed 10% of its share price, closing at N1.35 from the previous close of N1.50.

Ardova and AXA Mansard Insurance among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.44% and 8.25% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Transcorp traded about 159.63 million units of its shares in 374 deals, valued at N159.82 million.

Ellah Lakes Plc traded about 26.62 million units of its shares in 5 deals valued at N113 million.

Oando traded about 21.6 million units of its shares in 349 deals, valued at N104.69 million.
