Stock market closes marginally up by 0.04%, investors gain N9bn

Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange on Wednesday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index grew marginally by 0.04% to close at 43,477.48 points from the previous close of 43,461.60 points.

Investors gained N9bn as the Market Capitalisation closed at N23.681 trillion from the previous close of N23.672 trillion.

An aggregate of 133.4 million units of shares were traded in 3078 deals, valued at N1.81 billion.

The Market Breadth closed positive as 12 equites emerged as gainers against 11 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Unity Bank led other gainers with 9.09% growth, closing at N0.48 from the previous close of N0.44.

Linkage Assurance, Royal Exchange and Chams Plc among other gainers also grew their share prices by 7.69%, 7.32% and 4.35% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Honeywell Flour led other price decliners as it shed 9.09% of its share price to close at N2 from the previous close of N2.20

Prestige Assurance, Presco and Jaiz Bank among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 8.70%, 6.15% and 6% respectively.

Volume Driver

FBNH traded about 30.38 million units of its shares in 113 deals, valued at N303.74 million

Oando traded about 16.77 million units of its shares in 68 deals, valued at 64.17 million.

Zenith Bank traded about 13.47 million units of its shares in 265 deals, valued at N268.15 million.
