President Tinubu appoints new CBN board members, seeks senates confirmation

President Tinubu recently appointed five persons appointed as directors of the board of the Central Bank of Nigeria. The appointed board directors of the CBN are; Robert Agbide, Ado Wanga, Murtala Sagaley, Urom Eke and Olayinka Aliyu.

The President has written to the Senate requesting for screening and confirmation of the five persons appointees.

In a letter read by the Senate President,  Godswill Akpabio during the plenary on Tuesday, President Tinubu stated thus:

 “In compliance with the provision of section 6(1a) of section 10(1)(2) of the Central Bank of Nigeria Establishment Act 2007.

“I am pleased to present for confirmation by the senate the appointments of the under listed five persons as directors of the board of the CBN; Robert Agbide, Ado Wanga, Murtala Sagaley, Urom Eke and Olayinka Aliyu.”
