NSEASI halts four straight gains, closes 0.26% lower, Monday

The Nigerian Bourse on Monday closed in red as the All Share Index declined by 0.26% to close at 31,344.24 points against the previous close of 31,426.63 points last Friday.

Market capitalisation declined by 0.26% to close at N11.688 trillion from the previous close of N11.719 trillion, shedding N31 billion

The volume and value of traded stocks declined by 46.62% and 41.37% to close at 222.7 million units and N1.84 billion respectively.

 Market Breadth

Market breadth closed negative as 10 stocks gained while 30 stocks declined.

Percentage Gainers

NPF Microfinance Bank with 9.59% growth led other percentage gainers to close at N1.60 from the previous close of N1.46

Union Diagnostics, Oando and University Press among other gainers grew 7.41%, 5.15% and 5.0% of their share prices respectively.

Percentage Losers

Berger Paints Plc tops the losers’ chart, shedding 9.68% of its share price to close at N7.00 from the previous close of N7.75.

Consolidated Hallmark Insurance and MCNICHOLs shed 8.57% and 7.69% of their share prices among others on the decliners’ list.

Volume Drivers

  • Fidelity Bank traded about 23.77 million units of its shares in 256 deals, valued at N56.66million.
  • UBA traded about 21.89 million units of its shares in 237 deals, valued at N162million.
