Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange closed negative on Thursday, with the All Share Index declining 1.17% from 38,605.07 points of Wednesday to close at 38,152.60 points.
Market capitalisation dipped by 1.17% closing N13.821 trillion as against N13.985 trillion of Wednesday, shedding N164 billion.
Volume and value of traded stocks grew by 1.36% and 7.16% closing at 271.4 million units and N4.1 billion above their previous close of 267.7 million units and N3.8 billion respectively.
24 stocks closed positive against 26 that lost bringing the market breadth to a negative round off.
Japaul Oil led other percentage gainers closing 9.30% above the previous close of N0.43 to settle at N0.47. Custodian grew 4.99% and Axa Mansard Insurance grew 4.91% ahead other stocks like NEM, Fidelity Bank and FCMB.
Honeywell Flour and NACHO top the losers’ chart losing 5.00% each of their share prices, while CCNN, SEPLAT and Jaizbank shed 4.76%, 4.49% and 4.48% respectively, among other stocks on percentage losers’ chart.
The most actively traded equity for the day is Guaranty Trust Bank, having traded about 28million units of its share in 335 deals, worth about N1.146 billion.
