Stock market extends decline, closes 0.07%lower, Thursday

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Thursday closed negative as the All Share Index declined marginally by 0.07% to close at 37,226.44 points as against the previous close of 37,253.25 points.

Market capitalisation closed at N13.485 trillion as against previous close of 13.495 trillion, shedding about N10 billion.

Volume and value of traded stocks appreciated by 22.08% and 22.85%, closing at 350.474 million units and N4.6 billion respectively.

Market Breadth

15 stocks closed positive against 30 that lost bringing the market breadth to a negative round off.

Percentage Gainers

Custodian led other percentage gainers closing 8.45% above the previous close of N6.27 to settle at N6.8

International Breweries, Mulitverse and Vita Foam grew 5.61%, 5% and 4.52% respectively ahead other stocks on the gainers’ chart.

Percentage Losers

Beta Glass Plc tops the losers’ chart, losing 10% of its share prices; while Tantalizer and MCNICHOLS Plc shed 9.09% and 8.99% respectively.

Volume Drivers

The most actively traded stock of the day is Zenith Bank, trading about 40.84million units of its shares, valued at about N980 million in 384 deals.
