Nigerian stock market declines, closes 0.35% lower, Wednesday

The Nigerian Bourse on Wednesday declined from the previous trading session as the All Share Index depreciated by 0.35% to close at 39,031.72 points against 39,167.04 points of Tuesday.

Market capitalisation declined by 0.35% to settle at N14.139 trillion as against N14.188 trillion of the last trading session, indicating a loss of N49 billion.

Volume of traded stocks grew by 33.68% settling at 456.4 million units while the total value of traded stocks dropped by 20.40% to close at N4.134billion away from N5.193 billion recorded on Tuesday.

Market Breadth

20 stocks closed positive against 22 that lost bringing the market breadth to a negative round off.

Percentage Gainers

Japaul Oil led other percentage gainers closing 5.88% above the previous close of N0.34, to settle at N0.36

UAC Properties grew 4.98%, PRESTIGE grew 4.92% and Learn Africa grew 4.86% ahead the other stocks on the gainers’ chart.

Percentage Losers

Diamond Bank tops the losers’ chart losing 5.00% of its share price, while AIICO, Unity Bank and Skye Bank shed 4.62%, 4.35% and 3.95% respectively.

 Volume Drivers

UBA is the most actively traded stock of the day, trading about 90million units of its shares in 131 deals, worth about N998.2 million
