Nigerian Bourse soared by 3.88%, gains N436 bn, Monday

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Monday, 24th of December, 2018 closed in green as the All Share Index soared by 3.88% to close at 31,967.01 from the previous close of 30,773.64 points.

Market capitalisation grew by 3.88%, closing at N11.677 trillion from the previous close of N11.241 trillion, thereby gaining N436 billion.

Volume and Value of traded stocks grew by 269.45% and 41.69% to close at 715.04 million units and N5.19 billion respectively.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed positive as 36 stocks gained against 5 stocks that lost

Percentage Gainers

Stanbic IBTC, Dangote Sugar and Diamond Bank and Nestle, with 10% growth led other gainers to close at N50.6, N15.4, N1.65 and N1617.1

Seplat, Forte Oil, CCNN, Unity Bank and UACN also grew 9.99%, 9.84%, 9.83%, 9.38% and 9.09% respectively among other gainers of the day.

Percentage Losers

Only five stocks declined in their share prices. These include Guinea Insurance, Tantalizer, John Holt, UCAP and WAPCO, shedding 8.00%, 4.76, 2.22, 2.08 and 0.79% respectively

Volume Drivers

NEM Insurance traded about 508.7 million units of its shares in 62 deals, valued at about N1.5 billion.
