Nigerian Bourse sheds N56 billion, closes 0.48% lower

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Thursday closed in red as the All Share Index closed 0.48% lower to settle at 31,210.79 points against the previous close of 31,360.28 points on Wednesday.

Market capitalisation shed N56 billion to close at N11.639 trillion against the previous close of N11.695 trillion.

Aggregate volume and value of traded stocks closed at 177.63 million units and N2.56 billion respectively in 2,635 deals.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative as 9 stocks gained while 20 stocks lost.

Percentage Gainers

MCNICHOLS with 9.62% growth led other gainers to close at N0.57 from the previous close of N0.52. This is followed by Dangote Flour and Ikeja Hotel, gaining 8.42% and 7.98% respectively.

 Percentage Losers

Learn Africa, Transcorp Hotel, Law Union & Rock Insurance and Eternal Oil among other price decliners shed 9.66%, 9.24%, 8.93% and 8.33% of their share prices respectively.

Volume Drivers

  • Zenith Bank traded about 80.78 million units of its shares in 212 deals, valued at about N1.8 billion.
