Nigerian Bourse recovers, advances by 1.07%

The Nigerian Bourse recovered from the previous marginal decline of 0.13% on Thursday, advanced by 1.07%.

The All Share Index soared by 1.07% closing at 48,881.93 points against the previous close of 48,365.14 points.

Consequently, investors gained N282 billion as market capitalisation also soared to N26.625 trillion from N26.343 trillion of the previous session.

The volume and value of traded stocks stood at 100.8 million units and N1.14 billion in 2,440 deals.

17 stocks closed positive against 10 that declined, bringing the market breadth to a positive round up

Percentage Gainers

Prestige Assurance led the gainers to close at 0.46% above the previous close of N0.42 which is 9.52% growth.

BUA Cement, THOMAS WYATT NIG. PLC, WAPIC and PHARMADEKO among other gainers also grew their share prices by over 8.00% each.

Percentage Losers

Unity Bank led other price decliners, shedding 9.26% of its share price to close at N0.49 from the previous close of N0.54.

SCOA, JAPAULGOLD and LIVESTOCK FEEDS also shed their share prices by 9.20%, 6.90% and 4.31% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Sterling Bank traded about 34 million units of its shares in 35 deals, valued at N46 million.

GTCO traded about 7 million units of its shares in 178 deals, valued at about N154 million.
