Nigerian Bourse rebounds, closes 0.01% higher, Thursday

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Thursday closed in green as the All Share Index grew by 0.01% to close at 30,833.50 points against the previous close of 30,829.45 points on Wednesday.

Market capitalisation grew by 0.02%, closing at N11.594 trillion from the previous close of N11.592 trillion, thereby gaining N2 billion

The aggregate volume and value of traded stocks closed at 1.92 billion units and N2.8 billion respectively in 2,807 deals.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative as 14 stocks gained while 17 stocks declined in price.

Percentage Gainers

C&I Leasing with 10% growth led other gainers to close at N7.99 from the previous close of N7.27

NASCON, Presco Plc and Wema Bank among other gainers grew their share prices by 9.89%, 9.68% and 9.59% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Sovereign Trust Insurance, Union Bank and AIICO Insurance among other price decliners shed 9.09%, 7.04% and 5.33%.

Volume Drivers

  • Wema Bank traded about 1.7 billion units of its shares being the highest volume for the day in 74 deals, valued at 1.275 billion.
