Nigerian Bourse gains N69bn as it closes 0.54% higher

The Nigerian equities market on Tuesday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index rose by 0.54% to close at 26,456.39 points from the previous close of 26,314.49 points last week Friday.

The market capitalisation closed at 12.879 trillion, gaining N69 billion from the previous close of N12.810 trillion.

Aggregate volume of traded stocks closed at 378.35 million units, valued at N7.15 billion in 4,798 deals.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed positive as 18 stocks gained against 11 stocks that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Cement Company of Northern Nigeria (CCNN) with 9.14% growth led the gainers’ list, closing at N19.10 from the previous close of N17.50.

Union Diagnostics, Cornerstone Insurance, Consolidated Hallmark Insurance and Wema Bank among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.09%, 8.16%, 7.69% and 6.78% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Ikeja Hotel and Courteville Business Solution Plc among other price decliners shed their share prices by 9.28% and 8.70% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Zenith Bank traded about 86.55 million units of its shares in 773 deals, valued at N1.52 billion.
