Nigerian Bourse gains N51bn, closes 0.44% higher, Thursday

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Thursday closed in green as the All Share Index grew by 0.44% to close at 32,545.06 points as against the previous close of 32,403.60 points on Wednesday.

Market capitalisation grew by 0.43% to close at N11.881 trillion as against the previous close of N11.830 trillion on Wednesday, thereby gaining N51 billion.

Volume of traded stocks dropped by 8.27% to close at 349.46 million units from the previous close of 380.96 million units on Wednesday.

Value of traded stocks grew by 57.26% to close at N3.67 billion as against the previous close of N2.3 billion.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed firm as 19 stocks gained against 19 stocks that lost.

Percentage Gainers

Jaiz Bank and Royal Exchange Plc both led the percentage gainers’ chart, both gaining 10% to close at N0.55 and N0.22 respectively.

Total Plc gained 8.20%, closing at N198 form the previous close of N183.

Diamond Bank, grew 7.19% while Consolidated Hallmark Insurance and LASACO both grew 7.14% among others on the gainers’ chart.

Percentage Losers

AG Leventis and Beta Glass Plc both shed 10% of their share prices, leading the percentage gainers’list.

Cutix Plc and MCNICHOLS shed 9.78% and 8.89% respectively among others on the losers’ chart.

Volume Drivers

Guaranty Trust Bank traded about 23.83 million units of its shares in 221deals, valued at about N869.9 million.

Zenith Bank traded about 24.5million units of its shares in 340 deals, worth about N589 million.
