Market sheds N51bn as NGXASI declines further by 0.20%

The equity market on Tuesday closed on a bearish note as the All Share Index declined further by 0.20% to settle at 47,156.56 points from the previous close of 47,251.93 points.

The Market Capitalisation declined by 0.20% to close at N25.415 trillion from the previous close of N25.466 trillion, thereby shedding N51 billion.

An aggregate of 303.5 million units of shares were traded in 4,616 deals, valued at N3.9 billion.

The Market Breadth closed negative as 16 equities appreciated in their share prices against 29 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

NPF Microfinance Bank led other gainers with 9.52% growth to close at N2.53 from the previous close of N2.31.

FCMB, Prestige Insurance and CHAMS among other gainers also grew their share prices by 7.94%, 6.52% and 4.76% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Japaul Gold led other price decliners as it shed 8.82% of its share price to close at N0.30 from the previous close of N0.34.

Champion Breweries, OANDO and MANSARD among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 8.78%, 6.75% and 9.52% and 6.52% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Access traded about 44 million units of its shares in 319 deals, valued at about N433 million.

UBA traded about 39.5 million units of its shares in 318 deals, valued at N304.9 million.

Fidelity traded about 33 million units of its shares in 210 deals, valued at N103.9 million.
