Market sheds N22bn as NGXASI closes lower by 0.11%

The equity market on Wednesday closed on a bearish note as the All Share Index depreciated by 0.11% to settle at 37,804.46 points from the previous close of 37,847.07 points.

The Market Capitalisation declined by 0.11% to close at N19.703 trillion from the previous close of N19.725 trillion, thereby shedding N22 billion.

An aggregate of 208.356 million units of shares were traded in 3,365 deals, valued at N1.6 billion.

The Market Breadth closed negative as 11 equities appreciated in their share prices against 23 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

FTN COCOA led other gainers with 10% growth to close at N0.33 from the previous close of N0.30.

Ikeja Hotel, Cornerstone and Linkage Assurance among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.89%, 9.80% and 9.09% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Royal Exchange led other price decliners as it shed 10.00% of its share price to close at N0.63 from the previous close of N0.70.

Japaul Gold, UPL and Consolidated Hallmark Insurance among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.80% and 9.52% and 9.38% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Zenith Bank traded about 33.7 million units of its shares in 406 deals, valued at about N795 million.

ENTRANZACT traded about 21 million units of its shares in just 1 deal, valued at N43 million.

Access Bank traded about 8.8 million units of its shares in 161 deals, valued at N75 million.
