Market gains N1.24trn as NGXASI rises by 2.22%

The Nigerian stock market on Monday closed higher as the All Share Index rose by 2.22% to settle at 104,674.67 points from the previous close of 102,401.88 points.

The Market Capitalisation was up by 2.22% to close at N57.282 trillion from the previous close of N56.038 trillion, thereby gaining N1.44 trillion.

An aggregate of 689.9 million units of shares were traded in 15,887 deals, valued at N25.9 billion.

The Market Breadth closed positive as 24 equities appreciated in their share prices against 38 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

OANDO led other gainers with 9.96% growth to close at N13.80 from the previous close of N12.55

Dangote Cement, TRIPPLEG and Berger Paint among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.93%, 9.89% and 9.81% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Ikeja Hotel and DAAR Communication led price decliners’ table as they shed 10.00% each of their share prices to close at N6.75 and N0.81 from the previous close of N7.50 and N0.90.

CADBURY and NPF Microfinance Bank among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.80% and 8.88% respectively.

Volume Drivers

JAPAULGOLD traded about 83.9 million units of its shares in 958 deals, valued at about N269.6 million.

TRANSCORP traded about 42.8 million units of its shares in 958 deals, valued at N690 million.

Zenith Bank traded about 34.5 million units of its shares in 697 deals, valued at about N1.4 billion.
