Investors gain N471bn on the last trading day of the year

Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange on the last trading day of the year closed on a positive note as the All Share Index appreciated by 2.16% to close at 42,716.44 points from the previous close of 41,813.27 points.

Investors closed the year 2021, gaining N471 billion as the Market Capitalisation grew by 2.16% to close at N22.296 trillion from the previous close of N21.825 trillion.

An aggregate of 455.28 million units of shares were traded in 2,749 deals, valued at N9.88 billion

The Market Breadth closed positive as 31 equities emerged as gainers while 15 equities declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

NESTLE and Royal Exchange led gainers’ chart with 10.00% growth, closing at N1556.50 and N0.88 from the previous close of N1415.00 and N0.80 respectively.

UPDCREIT among other gainers also grew it share price by 9.88% to close the last trading day of the year higher.

Percentage Losers

Nem Insurance led other price decliners as it shed 10.00% of its share price to close at N4.50 from the previous close of N5.00.

Wema Bank and Jaiz Bank among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 8.86% and 5.08% respectively

Volume Drivers

FBNH traded about 77.9 million units of its share, valued at N887.5 million.

Zenith Bank traded about 70 million units of its shares, worth about N1.775 billion
