Investors gain N43bn as market advances by 0.22%

Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange on Wednesday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index appreciated by 0.22% closing at 38,501.31 points from the previous close of 38,418.04 points.

Investors gained N43 billion as the Market Capitalization grew by 0.17% to close at N20.070 trillion from the previous close of N20.027 trillion.

An aggregate of 296 million units of shares were traded in 4,507 deals, valued at N2.56 billion.

The Market Breadth closed positive as 22 equities appreciated in their share prices against 13 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Cutix Plc led other gainers with 10% growth, closing at N3.63 from the previous close of N3.3.

John Holts and UAC Property among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.84% and 9.71% respectively.

Percentage Losers

BOC Gases led other price decliners as it shed 9.94% of its share price to close at N7.7 from the previous close of N8.55.

Berger Paints, Courtville and Japaul Gold among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.64%, 4.55% and 3.92% respectively.

Volume Drivers

FBNH traded about 34.84 million units of its shares in 198 deals, valued at N265 million.

Access Bank traded about 28.69 million units of its shares in 442 deals valued at N271.73 million.

Zenith Bank traded about 27.73 million units of its shares in 443 deals, valued at N689.15 million.
