Investors gain N157bn as NSEASI inches up by 1.25%

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Friday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index rose by 1.25% to close at 26,416.48 points away from the previous close of 26,090.88 points on Tuesday.

Market capitalisation closed at N12.753 trillion, gaining N157billion from the previous close of N12.596 trillion on Tuesday.

Aggregate volume of traded stocks grew closed at 222.5 million units, valued at N3.04 billion in 2,540 deals.

 

Market Breadth

The market Breadth closed positive as 24 stocks gained while 9 stocks declined in their share prices.

 

Percentage Gainers

Nestle Nigeria and NEM Insurance both led the gainers’ list with 10% growth to close at N1,430 and N2 respectively.

UAC Properties, University Press and Wapic Insurance among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.52%, 9.40% and 9.09% respectively.

 

Percentage Losers

May &Baker, Wema Bank and Guiness Nigeria among other price decliners shed their share prices by 9.81%, 7.25% and 6.24% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Access Bank traded about 42.03 million units of its shares in 143 deals, valued at about N418.4 million.

UBA traded about 28.37 million units of its shares in 209 deals, valued at about N196.3 million.

Guaranty Trust Bank traded about 22.78 million units of its shares in 106 deals, valued at about N660.5 million.
