Investors gain 141bn as NSEASI inches up by 1.01%, Thursday

The Nigerian Equities market on Thursday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index rose further by 1.01% to close at 27,426.64 points away from the previous close of 27,153.53 points on Wednesday.

Market Capitalisation closed at N13.351 trillion, gaining N141 billion from the previous close of 13.210 trillion on Wednesday.

Aggregate volume of traded stocks closed at 115.4 million units, valued at N854 million in 2816 deals.

Market Breadth

Market Breadth closed positive as 22 stocks gained while 7 stocks declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

AIICO Insurance Plc with 9.84% growth led other gainers to close at N0.67 from the previous close of N0.61.

Forte Oil, UAC Properties and Dangote Sugar among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.64%, 9.60% and 9.41% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Jaiz Bank led the price decliners, shedding 5.00% of its share prices to close at N0.38 form the previous close of N0.40. This is followed by NPF Microfinance Bank and Unity Bank, shedding 4.31% and 4.29% of their share prices respectively.

Volume Drivers

Access Bank traded about 17 million units of its shares in 289 deals, valued at N119.26 million.
