Gains in Dangote Cement, others help Nigerian Bourse to stay 1.57% afloat, Thursday

The Nigerian Bourse resumes from the holiday with a positive start as the All Share Index on Thursday grew by 1.57%, closing at 35,206.16 points from the previous close of 34,663.48 points on Monday.

Market capitalisation closed at N12.853 trillion, advancing by 1.56% from the previous close of N12.655 trillion, shedding N219 billion.

Volume of traded stocks grew by 0.1% closing at 220.7 million units while value declined by and 20.59%, to close at N2.53 billion.

Market Breadth

11 stocks gained while 25 stocks lost bringing the market breadth to a negative round off.

Percentage Gainers

WAPIC Insurance Plc led other percentage gainers, closing 8.82% above its previous close of N0.34 to settle at N0.37. This is followed by Veritas Kapital, which grew 7.69% to close at N0.28 from the previous close of N0.26.

Dangote Cement and Dangote Flour both grew 6.98% and 6.49% to close at N230 and N8.2 respectively.

Oando and Skye Bank, also gained 5.26% and 4% respectively among others on the gainers’ chart.

Percentage Losers

Livestock Feeds, REDSTAREX and Jaiz Bank shed 9.84. 9.65 and 9.43 respectively ahead others on the losers chart

Volume Drivers

UBA traded about 54.33 million units of its shares in 321 deals, valued at N436.1 million.
