Eterna Oil led 29 other stocks to help bourse stay 1.44% afloat

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange closed higher on Friday in an all green session as the All Share Index soared 1.44% to close at 38,278.55 points against the previous close of 37,733.44 points, adding a total of 545.110 points for the day.

Market capitalisation also advanced by 1.44%, adding N197 billion to settle at N13.866 trillion higher than N13.669 trillion recorded on Thursday.

Volume and Value of traded stocks grew by 13.11% and 30.64%, settling at 469.342 million units and N5.815 billion respectively.

Market Breadth

30 stocks closed positive against 18 that lost, bringing the market breadth to a positive round off.

Percentage Gainers

Etena Oil led other percentage gainers closing 4.99% above the previous close of N6.41, to settle at N6.73. Universal Press grew 4.95% while, NESTLE and TOTAL grew 4.92% and 4.74% respectively.

 Percentage Losers

Honeywell Flour and UAC Property jointly top the losers’ chart, both losing 4.98% of their share prices. FCMB and Skye Bank both shed 4.80% and 4.17% respectively.

 

Volume Drivers

Wema Bank has the highest traded volume for the day, trading about 171.322 million units of its share price.

Guaranty trust bank is the most actively traded stocks of the day, trading about 75.083 million units of its shares in 287 deals, worth about N3.012 billion.
