Nigerian Stock market rebounds, gains 0.34%, Monday

The Nigerian equities market opened the week on a positive note on Monday as the All Share Index grew 0.34 percent, adding 129.590 points, to close at 37,992.12 away from the previous close of 37,862.53 points.

The market capitalisation with about N47 billion increase closed at N13.763 trillion as against N13.716 trillion of the previous trading session.

Traded volume grew by 24.02% to settle at 207.4 million units from the previous close of 167.2 million units. Also the Value of traded stocks appreciated by 139.67% to settle at about N3.4 billion from N1.4 billion recorded on Friday.

Market Breadth

Trading activities for the day closed balanced as 21 stocks gained to counter the 21 on the losers’ chart.

Percentage Gainers

LASACO with 5.88% growth, tops the price percentage gainers’ chart. This is followed by CCNN which grew by 4.85%. Vitafoam and Sterling Bank grew 2.94% each ahead other stocks like Skye Bank, Mutual Benefi and C&I Leasing.

Percentage Losers

SEPLAT tops the losers’ chart, losing 4.99% of its share price; while CAP plc and Linkage Assurance both shed 4.89% and 4.60% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Zenith Bank traded an aggregate volume of 16.189 million units of its shares in 275 deals, worth about N418.659 million
