Equities market rebounds with 0.17% growth, gains N24bn

The Nigerian Bourse on Thursday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index grew by 0.17%, closing at 27,568.91 points from the previous close of 27,523.08 points on Wednesday.

Market Capitalisation grew by 0.17% to close at N14.362 trillion from the previous close of N14.338 trillion, thereby gaining N24 billion.

Aggregate volume of traded stocks closed at 484.99 million units, up by 67.15% from the previous close of 290 million units.

Value of traded stocks dropped by 28.56% to close at N3.59 billion, against the previous close of N5.02 billion.

Total number of deals at the close of trade was 4,187, up by 18.68% from the previous close of 3,528 deals.

 

Market Breadth

The Market Breadth closed positive as 19 stocks gained while 10 stocks declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

AIICO Insurance and Ikeja Hotel both led the percentage gainers list with 10% growth to close at N0.99 and N1.21 respectively.

United Capital Plc, Wapic Insurance and ABC Transport among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.94%, 9.68% and 9.37% respectively.

 

Percentage Losers

Law Union & Rocks Insurance and SFS Real Estate Investment Trust both led the price decliners list, shedding 10% of their share prices to close at N0.81 and N76.95 respectively.

Champions Breweries and Jaiz Bank among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.28% and 7.35% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Sovereign Trust Insurance traded about 200 million units of its shares in 2 deals, valued at N40 million.

Guaranty Trust Bank traded about 56 million units of its shares in 549 deals, valued at N1.57 billion.

Zenith Bank traded about 36.7 million units of its shares in 487 deals, valued at N713.88 million.
