Access, Zenith sustain rally as NSEASI closes lower by 0.37%, Wednesday

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange closed on Wednesday a negative note as the All Share Index declined by 0.37% to close at 26,357.61 points against the previous close of 26,456.39 points on Tuesday.

The market capitalisation closed at N12.831 trillion, shedding N48 billion from the previous close of 12.879 trillion.

Aggregate volume of traded stocks closed at 610.58 million units, valued at N11.1 billion in 5,031 deals.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative as 13 stocks gained against 15 that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Ikeja Hotel with 9.09% growth led the gainers’ list, closing at N0.96 from the previous close of N0.88.

A.G Leventis and Jaiz Bank among others both grew their share prices by 7.14% to close at N0.30 and N0.60 respectively.

Access Bank grew its share price by 3.14% to close at N9.85 from the previous close of N9.55.

Zenith Bank grew its share price by 2.30% to close at N17.80 from the previous close of N17.40.

Percentage Losers

Total, PZ and Consolidated Hallmark Insurance among other price decliners shed their share prices by 9.98%, 9.91% and 7.14% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Zenith Bank traded about 336.6 million units of its shares in 632 deals, valued at N5.79 billion.
