Stock market sheds N9bn as NGXASI dips by 0.04%

The Nigerian stock market on Monday closed on a bearish note as the All Share Index declined by 0.04% to close at 39,505.40 points from the previous close of 39,522.34 points.

The Market Capitalization dropped by 0.04% to close at N20.583 trillion from the previous close of N20.592 trillion, thereby shedding N9 billion.

An aggregate of 141.28 million units of shares were traded in 3,393 deals, valued at N1.64 billion.

The Market Breadth positive as 25 equities appreciated in their share prices against 15 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

SFS Real Estate Investment Trust led other gainers with 9.96% growth, closing at N67.90 from the previous close of N61.75.

MRS, May & Baker and Honeywell Flour among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.92%, 9.77% and 9.76% respectively.

Percentage Losers

ABC Transport led other price decliners as it shed 8.33% of its share price, closing at N0.33 from the previous close of N0.36.

LASACO and Livestock Feeds among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 6.67% and 4.81% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Etranzact traded about 16.19 million units of its shares in 4 deals, valued at N33.35 million.

Fidelity Bank traded 10.44 million units of its shares in 81 deals valued at N24.33 million.

Transcorp traded about 9.77 million units of its shares in 61 deals, valued at N9.28 million.
