VITAFOAM led other 17 stocks to 0.54% market growth, Friday

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian stock market closed higher on Friday, as the all share index soared 0.54% to close at 382,841.69 against the previous close of 32,664.63, adding a total of 177.060 points for the day.

Market capitalization also advanced by 0.55%, adding N65 billion to settle at N11.990 billion higher than N11.925 billion recorded on Thursday

Volume of traded stocks grew by 22.48% and the value of traded stock dropped by 61.26%, closing at212 million units and N1.4 billion respectively

Market Breadth

18 stocks closed positive against 19 that lost, bringing the market breadth to a negative round off.

Percentage Gainers

Vitafoam tops percentage gainers’ chart, gaining 9.84% of its share price to  settle at N3.46 above the previous close of N3.15.

The INITIATES PLC grew 8.93% while, Prestige Assurance and Linkage Assurance gained 7.69% and 6.45% respectively.

 Percentage Losers

Forte Oil tops the losers’ chart, losing 9.23% of its share price, while JOHNHOLT and SUNU Assurance shed 9.09% each.

Volume Drivers

Consolidated Hallmark Insurance traded the highest volume, recording a total traded stock of about 91 million units of its shares.

Zenith traded about 8 million units of its shares in 211 deals, valued at about N194 million.
