Trading remains upbeat on NSE as ASI closes 0.83% higher

Activities on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange on Wednesday remained upbeat for the 9th consecutive sessions, with the All-Share Index closing on the last trading day of the month by 0.83% higher to settle at 26,831.76 compared with 26,611.96 recorded on Tuesday.

The market capitalisation grew by N117 billion to close at N14.025 trillion, from N13.908 trillion recorded in the previous session.

Aggregate volume and value of traded stocks settled at 322.77 million units and N4.04 billion in 4,046 deals. 

Market Breadth

Market Breadth closed positive as 20 stocks gained against 8 stocks that lost at the end of the day’s trading

Percentage Gainers

Total Nigeria Plc led the gainers chart with 10.00% growth to close at N96.80 from the previous close of N88.00

Eterna Oil, UAC Nigeria and WAPIC Plc also gained above 16 other stocks by 9.60%, 9.45% and 5.71% respectively.

Percentage Losers

University Press tops the price decliners’ list, shedding 6.77% of its share price to close at N1.24 from N1.33.

Trailing on the red table are; Nigerian Breweries, PZ and Wema Bank, all shedding 6.76%, 5.88% and 5.26% respectively, ahead of other price decliners.

Volume Drivers

Access Bank traded about 46 million units of its shares in 197 deals, valued at about N308 million.

Zenith Bank traded about 24 million units of its shares in 547 deals, valued at about N443 million.
