Nigerian Bourse closes lower by 0.46%, Tuesday

The Nigerian equities market on Tuesday closed on a negative note as the All Share Index closed lower by 0.46% to settle at 27,820.57 points against the previous close of 27,950.37 points on Monday.

The market capitalisation closed at N13.558 trillion, shedding N64 billion from the previous close of N13.622 trillion.

Aggregate volume closed at 155.2 million units, valued at N2.23 billion in 3,192 deals.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative as 11 stocks gained while 20 declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Mutual Benefit Assurance Plc with 10.00% growth led other gainers to close at N0.22 from the previous close of N0.20.

Ikeja Hotels and Unity Bank among other gainers also grew their share prices by 8.96% and 8.62% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Japaul Oil, Nigerian Breweries and LASACO among others shed their share prices by 8.70%, 8.33% and 8.11% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Guaranty Trust Bank traded about 22.27 million units of its shares in 166 deals, valued at N640 million.
